Christopher Trimmel continues with Union Berlin
Despite his age, Christopher Trimmel remains one of the most important players for Union Berlin.
In February 1987, Christopher Trimmel was born in Oberpullendorf, Austria. He began his professional career at Rapid Vienna in 2007, before moving to Union Berlin in 2014. Under his captaincy, Union Berlin emerged as a force in the Bundesliga.
Trimmel is a versatile player who can play either as a right-back or a right midfielder. He is known for his crossing ability, his work rate, and his leadership skills. Despite being 34 years old, Trimmel remains one of the most important players for Union Berlin. He scored the winning goal in the team's 2-1 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the DFB-Pokal final in 2022 and played a key role in Union Berlin's qualification for the Europa League in 2022-23.
Trimmel has also been capped 15 times by the Austrian national team. He was part of the Austria squad that reached the quarter-finals of the 2016 European Championship.
