Roma Sack Manager De Rossi After Winless Run

Roma Sack Manager De Rossi after Winless Run

Unimpressive Performance Leads to Roma's Decision

Following a series of lackluster performances and a disappointing winless streak, AS Roma has made the difficult decision to part ways with manager Daniele De Rossi.

De Rossi's Poor Run of Form

De Rossi, who took over the reins of the Italian club in October 2021, has struggled to turn around Roma's fortunes. Under his leadership, the team has managed just six wins in 21 matches across all competitions, including a particularly dismal run of six consecutive Serie A defeats.

Roma currently languishes in eighth place in the Serie A standings, a far cry from their aspirations of challenging for the league title. The club's poor form has also seen them eliminated from both the Coppa Italia and the UEFA Europa League.

Fans Growing Impatient

De Rossi's underwhelming tenure has understandably led to growing frustration among Roma fans. The team's lack of progress and uninspiring performances have eroded the goodwill that De Rossi had built up during his playing days with the club.

The decision to sack De Rossi was made after a meeting between the club's board of directors and sporting director Tiago Pinto. The club has yet to announce a replacement, but several high-profile managers, including former Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte, have been linked with the role.

Roma's Search for a New Manager

Roma will now embark on a search for a new manager who can help them rediscover their winning ways. The club is reportedly keen on appointing someone with experience in Serie A and a track record of success.

Several names have been mentioned as potential replacements for De Rossi, including Roberto Mancini, Claudio Ranieri, and Maurizio Sarri. However, it remains to be seen who will ultimately be appointed to the role and tasked with guiding Roma back to the upper echelons of Italian football.
